Lauren Conrad attends Animal Fair Magazine's 9th annual Paws for Style event in New York City on Tuesday which benefits the Humane Society.

Question: Just HOW many celebrity-slash-charity-slash-dog events actually happened last night???

Also, why on earth did the Paws planners get their panties in a bunch when Lauren didn't walk the runway in their show, as reports are saying? The girl did her part for those darn paws!... at least, according to her rep and her blog...

Lauren wrote that she is "extremely hurt" that the party planners blasted her with "untrue statements." She added that she will continue to support the Humane Society, in spite of the drama.

Is this John Mayer's way of warning the public about the threat of global warming (and rising sea levels)?

Today, the musician was spotted out and about in New York City wearing a pair of pants that seemed to say, "F**k you, Impending Ankle-Deep Water."

We might be laughing now, but in ten years, Mr. Mayer could have a point.  So, air out those ankles, John.  Air 'em on out (or return the pants to the 13-year-old boy from whom you borrowed them).

Despite recent weight loss, we don't think we're quite ready to compare her to a pole (of the barbershop variety), so we went ahead and stuck with the candy cane.

Whatever we're comparing her to, we're going to note that she looks good.  Yeah.  We said it.  Kelly Osbourne is looking good.  Amazing how much a smile can do for improving one's looks (Ahem, Ms. Biel.  Ahem, Olsens.).

We have a feeling Kelly's lovey dovey smooch fest with this fellow might have something to do with it as well.

And, Kel, now that you're hanging out in New York, mind if we borrow the sweet a** ride you abandoned in L.A.?  It's among our dream cars (good) and it's teal (double plus good).

Oh wait.  No, he doesn't.  She's right there and that "decoy" is her (or Katie's... or Tom's) babydoll.

Yesterday, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and daughter Suri dropped by Union Station where the ABC show Eli Stone is filming.  Word on the street is that Katie filmed a special guest role for an upcoming episode.

Upon spotting that colorful frock, we were just happy to see that Suri Cruise sometimes wears the same thing twice (like a normal kid, ya know?), even if she did change outfits at some point during the day.  What can ya do?  Kids can be messy...

Um, and why is Katie wearing long, black gloves?  Scoop that, someone... please.

It was all about the doggies on Tuesday night in New York at the Power Of Paws Launch Party held at the Helen Mills Gallery.

Nineteen-year-old Rumer Willis was pictured with a pooch along with Joumana Kidd (in stripes), former America's Next Top Model winner  CariDee English (in high-waisted jean shorts) Nicky Hilton and Jeff Corwin.

And we can't forget to mention Bon Bon the pup (in stylish-yet-small aviator sunglasses).
