I'm on alot of lakes all summer in europe. Only elder and ill wear wests. Nothing happens, and if it happens it has todo with stupididy. How are you kids learn to accept the dangers of life, when they are "hummer-ed" around all day with 10 bodyguards? If you know "nothing can happen to me" you start doing stupid things like shaking up the boat. Experience is the only thing that gives you wisdom.

nothing to lighten up about, these guys make a lot of money, right? you think they would have the sense to have life jackets on everyone, lota people there! let me tell you, we took a ferry to get to cinque terre, suddenly the waters, changed, suddenly it go real rough, we said to the tour guide, where are the life jackets (she was an American Tour Guide) said on in Italy, we don't worry about those things, let me tell you they were on that boat for awhile, anything could have gone wrong, and what a tragedy that would have been. gotta think people, think! in fact, damon is a pretty smart guy, he really keeps up with his politics, i would suggest, he take a course, in common sense! note: if anything upforseen would have happened, those kids wouldn't have a chance.

Life jackets on tiny kids is so important.. if that boat goes over they wont have the ability to grab all those kids. Kids sink. It can happen REALLY REALLY fast. It doesnt matter how close to shore it is.

Totally agree - everyone should be wearing a life preserver jacket, especially the children and the non-swimmers. Its an easy way to avoid a unforeseen, tragic accident.

Lighten up? Uptight? Accidents are called accidents because they are unexpected. Make sure your children are safe, regardless of where in the world you are. That is what parents are supposed to do and it shouldn't matter who you are are where you are.

That's just the way it is in Europe... we're not as uptight about these things.

Oh for God's sakes, Liza, lighten up. They were likely very close to the shore and had possibly taken them off. I seriously doubt that these are irresponsible parents.
