Padalecki Appears Pumped Up

I preferred the way he looked in Seasons 1 & 2. I liked his boyish prettiness in one and his larger physique in two. Either one, he is tall and definitely masculine, without the huge muscles. His hair flattered his face and looked clean. Now his face is puffy, hair is unattractive and he's too bulky.

Tell the dude to put some meat on those two sticks called legs. As for walking around with arms puffed out to the side....even the biggest of them all, Arnold or Sergio NEVER had that problem. The only time they did was when flexing their lats for competition. This dude certainly doesn't have that problem. Curls only training does nothing for anything else. Guys only do this because they think they are big....ego. This guy is a wannabe.

please, nicola, tell jim to tell jared to immediately double his cardio exercises... We cant lose jared, he is too gorgeous!!!!

I completely agree with anyone who says he looks puffed up...too big now. I completely miss Jared from S2/S3/S4 of Supernatural. OMG he was SOOOOO frickin fine! Toned, lean muscled body. Extremely defined. He HAD a neck back then...now his neck is getting way too frickin' big! He's starting to walk with his arms out to the side the way muscle men do when they get too big.

And he isn't dressing as well as he used to. Likely b/c he can't fit into those sexy, stylin clothes anymore.

Don't get me wrong...I have ALWAYS adored Jared and thought him HOT HOT HOT. But I think he's getting way too big and bulky. Jared, bulk down!

He's likely doing it though b/c he is a possible candidate for the remake of Conan the Barbarian movie.

According to Jim Beaver (one of my FB friends. And YES...the real Jim Beaver who plays Bobby on the show), he says he doesn't think that Jared is on steroids. But he didn't say he 'knew' he wasn't. Just that he thought he wasn't.

Anyway, Jared...bulk back down to S3/S4 you. The frickin super hot you.

Ugh he looks horrible all puffed up in the face like that - his pretty cheekbones and eyes are just lost in it. I hope he loses it and gets back to the Jared I know and love.

no, spngirl, jared is not retaining water, he gained weight for an audition. dont worry, it was just for a role.

Oh my… I have been really shocked at how he looks and these pictures don't reassure me at all. What is he doing to himself? If he was looking all puffy like that because of excess fluids and lack of sleep then so would Jensen Ackles as he has the same schedule and workload, but he looks ten years younger. Something seems off to me. And what would a guy Jared's age be doing retaining water anyway? That doesn't make any sense.

season 1-2 Sam was a boy. i like the man jared is now. he just needs to lose all the weight he gained for the conan audition, thats all. He is a gorgeous man and a great actor.

Above poster: there is nothing wrong with the way Jensen looks. Don't try to deflect. But yep: Jared has gone way too far with the weights.

I think he really bulked up to try for the Conan role, so hopefully he'll ease off just a bit. However, he doesn't need steroids to get there: he has said he lifts heavy and hard; meaning he is going for maximum bulk and you can use other legal supplements to help with that; muscles are majorly water anyway, so lots of liquids and protein will work. Plus, he has the natural advantage of very little body fat, so all muscles really show up as do the veins and whatnot. He looks a lot leaner in person I would bet, when you consider that his head doesn't look tiny in proportion with his body.

I liked the 'boy' skinny Jared, but he is a man now and he is in darned fine shape. Just a wee bit less bulked and I'd say he is perfect. The puffy face could also be from excess water/fluids and lack of sleep - which is notorious on SPN. Jensen has looked pretty haggard lately too.

I think Padalecki looks awful now. He looks all puffy and weirdly proportioned. Even in last night's episode his arms were all veiny and Popeye looking.

Following up on what the poster above says, I do get the impression that steroids might be what the headline is slyly referring to... He was in the running for the Conan movie so perhaps he bulked up for that? I agree he has looked awful in the last two episodes: his face looks swollen.

It's disgusting. He used to be cute but now he looks awful.

I'm with everyone who wants him to bulk down, not up. I think he looks puffy and bloated, especially in the face and neck - my boyfriend is a PT and reckons Jared is taking steroids. :-(

Well I'm not fond of too much muscles, but Ì've seen him look bigger then that. He looks just perfectly fine there! A guy at his size NEEDS a bit of muscles or he'll get skinny easily. He's still slender and all. And gorgeous! =)

Jared looks fantastic! He just continues to look better and better all the time!

He was beautiful when he was smaller, sure, but apparently, this makes him happy and really, as long as he is healthy, isn't his HAPPINESS all that is important? After all, it's not like it makes him look BAD or anything, god no. *flails and falls over*

Yes it is winter here in Vancouver but we haven't gotten any snow and aside from the rain, the temperature has been warmer than normal for January. It was bright and sunny yesterday and actually +9C.

I can't stop looking at Jensen...

He looks amazing as always! I do wish he'd get a hair cut, though. ;)
